Make it Happen 2025

At Daysix, we love starting things, transforming ideas into reality, spreading brilliant stories and creating digital tools that make a difference, but we also know that many inspirational and important ideas never get the chance to take shape.

That’s why we want to make it happen.

We’re offering our creative and digital services—up to the value of £10,000—to individuals, businesses, and charities who are working on ideas with real potential for positive impact.

This year, we’re particularly keen to hear from from:

  • UK based renewables companies driving innovation in sustainable energy.
  • Healthcare projects focused on supported self-management and empowering people to take control of their wellbeing.

Of course, we’ll consider ideas from any sector if they inspire us.

If your idea is ambitious, meaningful, and has potential for impact, we want to hear it!

Applications are now closed

Thank you to all who submitted! We’re currently reviewing all your applications.

What would you like to make happen?

Start something new – launch a brand, product, or service that could change your field.

Shift perceptions – run a campaign that sparks collaboration, changes minds, or inspires action.

Build momentum – create tools, courses or programmes that help people do more for themselves.

Tell your story – shape a narrative that connects your mission to the people you want to reach.

With £10k of our team’s skills and services, you could develop a brand identity, refresh your website, create promo films or animations, design pitch decks, campaigns, content strategies. This list goes on!

Larger projects (like a full mobile app) may exceed budget, but this fund lay a strong creative foundation.

Pitching Your Idea

For each application, we’ll be considering:

IMPACT

What positive impact will your idea generate?

CLARITY

Your idea needs to be clear and succinct. Ideally, you can summarise in a sentence what you want to create and the impact it will make.

COLLABORATION

Is there an opportunity for us to bring our creativity to this? How could our digital support (strategy, design, or tech) make a difference? Tell us why collaborating with us will bring this idea to life and why our offer would make a significant difference.

ENTHUSIASM

Does your application capture your excitement and passion for this idea?

Applying

You can fill out our online form, which we’ll add here on the 13th October, or send us a short video instead, max 6 minutes long. Send emails to makeithappen@daysix.co

If submitting a video, please include a response to these areas:

  • Introduction to you and the organisation you represent
  • the problem in the world are you looking to tackle?
  • What you want to make or achieve and how this will tackle the problem
  • The positive impact you’d like to create
  • Why you want to collaborate with Daysix and the potential of this partnership

Selection Process

Our Make It Happen team will create a shortlist of the best applications, which will be presented to the Daysix team to vote for their favourite. In the event of a tied vote, the Make It Happen team will select the winner. The winner will be invited to our studio for a creative session with the Daysix team.

We’ll get to know you and your idea and have fun exploring creative solutions for bringing your idea to life.

Goodies

2024 was a record year for applications – and our team voted for Edinburgh-based charity, Goodies, who are dedicated to reducing waste, supporting people, and building community.

Goodies has grown from a hand-pulled wagon into a growing team of around 30 staff and volunteers, working to ensure that no food is wasted and nobody goes hungry.  They rescue surplus food and other goods from local businesses, redirecting them to those in need. They also operate a welcoming community café offering affordable meals, run a second-hand shop and offer catering and pantry provisions. A load of very good stuff!

We helped them clarify and strengthen their brand identity and refresh their online presence. This included redesigning their website to be more user-friendly, accessible and engaging, so people looking to donate, volunteer, or use their services can find what they need easily. The updated brand and digital presence support Goodies’ mission by increasing awareness, trust, and engagement, which in turn helps them expand their reach and impact.

PAD Map.

We did Make It Happen a little differently this year. Instead of running a competition, we subsidised an important new defibrillator mapping tool, developed in partnership with the British Heart Foundation and the Scottish Ambulance Service and funding provided by The Scottish Government and St John’s Scotland.

Getting a defibrillator to a cardiac arrest event makes a huge difference to the survival rate. Every minute that passes massively affects the survival rate.

This tool combines cardiac arrest data and public defibrillator locations in Scotland to determine the most effective locations to place additional public defibrillators.

Brilliant partners, technology + cool maps + UI, + saving lives = everything we love to do!

Junction 42.

Junction 42 was founded in 2012 by a team with over 45 years of collective experience working with offenders in prisons and communities. They focus on providing individuals with the confidence and experience to develop work-ready skill sets and entrepreneurial mindsets.

We worked with them to develop a brand and course print materials for “Grounded”, their barista training programme for individuals who need new skills to support their lives.  We also produced a video series for this course that explains how to brew the best cup of coffee!

Halo Gardens.

HALO Gardens were conceived in lockdown. They are a response to our communal experience of the COVID 19 pandemic. Social distancing is one of our greatest tools against the spread of the virus, but is also frightening and isolating. HALO Gardens are intimate and beautiful outdoor sanctuaries where families and friends can meet safely.

With a great idea, and amazing expertise to deliver, the Halo Gardens team needed help with an identity and a web presence to get their idea off the ground. We happily obliged.

The Edinburgh School Uniform Bank.

We loved working with these amazing people. We helped them out with a refreshed logo, animation and film to help shine a light on the amazing work they do, raise awareness of the charity, increase donations and ultimately get school uniforms to kids who need them. They were a total pleasure to work with and here is what they had to say about Make It Happen.

“With your help, our “sponsor a child” appeal in 2020 was a roaring success and local people donated funds to supply a full set of uniform to hundreds of children. These children had the chance to go back to school with confidence, fitting in with their peers and ready to do their best.”
