Daysix is looking for a mid-level Frontend Developer with proven React Native experience to join our healthcare-focused platform development team.

You’ll collaborate with other developers on innovative, impactful projects, particularly in healthcare, where our work with the NHS directly improves the lives of clinicians and patients.

You must be able to demonstrate the technical essential requirements, and be able to talk confidently about your approach.

About you and the role

You’ll be working on a variety of projects, hands-on across the full project lifecycle – from design and implementation to release and support. You’ll turn ideas into solutions, working alongside designers and other developers.

The technical stuff

Essential:

  • 2+ Years of commercial experience building native apps
  • App Store & Google Play release management (signing and keystores)
  • Experience with Xcode + Android Studio
  • Experience upgrading react native
  • End to End testing mobile apps (detox, maestro or similar)
  • Mobile CI/CD, EAS Build, CodeMagic or similar
  • Experience profiling and optimizing native apps
  • An understanding of the react native ecosystem
  • Experience with State management solutions (eg. redux, zustand, mobx)
  • Experience with RN Navigation libraries (eg. react-navigation, react-native-navigation, expo-router)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Kotlin and/or Swift
  • Open Source contributions
  • Experience working in Health Tech
  • Experience working with the FHIR data spec

The technical stuff

Essential:

  • 2+ Years of commercial experience building complex Single Page Applications (SPAs).
  • Key technologies: React, Typescript, React-router, Medplum, Turbo monorepo.
  • Proficiency in React and a deep understanding of the React ecosystem (Hooks, Lifecycle, etc.).
  • TypeScript: Deep knowledge of type-safe development, including interfaces, generics, and integrating types with external APIs and state management libraries.
  • Web Performance & Optimisation: Experience profiling and optimising web apps (Lighthouse, React Profiler).
  • Browser Environments: Experience with cross-browser compatibility, DOM manipulation, and responsive web design.
  • State Management: Experience with solutions like Redux, Zustand, MobX, or React Query.
  • Routing: Proficiency with React SPA navigation libraries.
  • Proficiency with CSS: Expert-level understanding of Vanilla CSS (Box model, cascading and specificity). Experience building accessible, responsive interfaces from scratch.
  • Inclusive Engineering: Deep understanding of A11y patterns in SPAs and implementing WCAG Guidelines. Proficient in using automated testing tools (Axe, Lighthouse) and manual screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver).
  • AI-Augmented Development: Proficient in using AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate delivery, while maintaining the critical eye needed to review, refactor, and ensure the generated code meets our standards for security and maintainability.

Nice to have:

  • React Native experience: Understanding of cross-platform concepts is a significant plus.
  • DevOps & Cloud: Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (specifically Azure DevOps) and Azure Cloud Services.
  • Health Tech & FHIR: Experience working in Health Tech and/or with the FHIR data spec.

Experience in Health Tech is a plus, but not a dealbreaker. We are looking for talented engineers who take ownership and drive innovation. If you have the technical foundation and the curiosity to learn the nuances of healthcare data, we can teach you the rest.
