In 2018 Daysix and EmQuire, in partnership with NHS GG&C and the Scottish Trauma Network, developed a prototype app to map a small subset of the ATLS trauma protocol. We undertook simulations in two Scottish hospitals with the aim of exploring the impact of a digital solution on care delivery and outcomes. The results from those simulations encouraged Innovate UK to fund the project to develop the prototype further.
Early prototyping demonstrated huge promise and was received by clinicians . With support from Innovate UK we completed a prototype, and we’ve since self-funded its development into production-ready product.
The Trauma App is now live in centres internationally, supporting clinicians to deliver critical trauma care.

ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT
From prototype to product
We were delighted to be awarded funding by Innovate UK to develop the trauma app along with our partner EmQuire, who supported the project with clinical expertise and app evaluation.
At the end of the two-year project we had a complete prototype able to capture a full episode of care and provide decision support to clinicians. To keep up to date with the project sign up for our updates at the project website.
Based on ATLS protocol and designed in collaboration with trauma clinicians.
Real-time
Highly granular timeline of data points generated in real time by the scribe or user.
Decision support
Real-time analysis of timeline against ATLS protocol with cognitive aides to assist clinicians.
Rapid input
Quicker and more accurate data input than existing paper forms.
Automated reporting
Automated reporting to reducing post case clinical paperwork.
